Write an SOP without AI
Create a blank procedure and fill in its detailed instructions using the free manual editor.
Before you start
- Sign in as the workspace owner or an admin. Read-only members cannot change workspace content.
- Prepare the actual workflow and expected success checks. Manual authoring does not use credits.
Step-by-step walkthrough
Step 1
Create the blank SOP
Select New SOP, enter a descriptive title and choose Department. Select Start blank. This immediately adds an initial blank SOP; it is not held as a private import draft.
Step 2
Open Edit SOP
In the new SOP reader, select Edit SOP. Fill in summary, owner, Department and Folder, then set platform, level and tags as useful.
Step 3
Write detailed instructions
Use Objective & scope, Prerequisites, Steps and Step instructions. Keep one action per step and add enough detail for a new teammate to complete it without guessing.
Step 4
Add checks and save
Write Verification checks and Notes / body, then select Save changes. Reopen the procedure and test it. If incomplete content must never be team-visible, prepare the text separately and use the import review flow instead.
Practical example
A manual invoice SOP
Document who approves the invoice, where the approved amount comes from, how it is sent, and how delivery is confirmed. Put approval prerequisites before payment-related actions.
Common issues and fixes
- The blank SOP is visible before I finish
- Start blank adds it to the library immediately. Use document/pasted-text drafts if you need explicit approval before visibility.
- My steps are hard to follow
- Split combined actions into individual steps and add tool-specific detail plus a measurable success check.
What success looks like
