Before you start

  • Own the website you want to edit. Have approved text, images and working destination links.
  • AI edits use 1 credit; manual edits are free. Publishing makes the website publicly accessible.

Step-by-step walkthrough

  1. Step 1

Open the site and set Design

Select the site under Your websites. Adjust Primary, Background, Foreground and Muted colors, the font and corner roundness. Upload a logo you have permission to use.

  2. Step 2

    Edit each page and section

Choose a page under Pages, then select a section to edit its fields. Replace placeholder text, upload photos where available, and set the actual button URLs. Add a section from the section menu if needed.

  3. Step 3

    Review AI edits before applying

Enter a specific request under Ask AI to change the site and select Preview change. Inspect the proposed preview before approval. Use the editor’s available undo for recent AI changes when necessary; do not confuse a preview with the live site.

  4. Step 4

    Save, publish and inspect live

Select Save, then Publish. Open View live and check every page, navigation link and call to action as a visitor would. Saving alone does not make an unpublished site public.

  5. Step 5

    Test contact submissions

If you added a contact section, submit a genuine test message on the published site. Return to Contact form messages in the editor to confirm it appears. Do not assume lead emails or Slack notifications are configured.

Practical example

A launch check

Test the home-to-contact journey, make sure the logo loads, and send one clearly marked test enquiry. Verify the message in the editor before announcing the website.

Common issues and fixes

My contact message does not appear
The form must belong to a published site. Check required fields and wait for submission confirmation; bot traps and per-email limits can reject repeated tests.
I want a custom domain for this site
The website builder currently publishes under /site/ followed by its slug. Workspace domain preferences are not a website-domain activation tool.

What success looks like

A public website with checked content, working links and a verified contact-message inbox.
