Choose and apply workspace templates
Preview industry structures and apply one intentionally without confusing structure changes with visual layouts.
Before you start
- Sign in as the workspace owner or an admin. Read-only members cannot change workspace content.
- For an existing workspace, review your current departments and SOP placement before applying a new structure.
Step-by-step walkthrough
Step 1
Choose the correct template entry
During workspace creation, use the industry-template browser. In an existing workspace, use Portal settings → Industry structure → Browse workspace templates.
Step 2
Search and inspect the structure
Find an industry or knowledge-library template that matches your work. Read the department and folder names instead of selecting solely by industry label.
Step 3
Apply only the intended structure
For a new workspace, finish setup from the selected template. For an existing workspace, apply the chosen structure through its chooser. Existing SOPs are kept, while unmatched items move to Imported.
Step 4
Check Imported and department folders
Open the resulting departments and inspect any SOPs in Imported. Use Edit SOP to move procedures to their proper Department and Folder. Adjust names to your real company terminology.
Practical example
An industry starter is a starting point
A legal template may supply intake and matter-delivery folders. Rename or reorganize those groups if your team works differently; the template does not certify compliance.
Common issues and fixes
- I only wanted a different visual design
- Choose Portal layout instead. Industry structure changes the organization of departments and folders.
- Some SOPs moved to Imported
- The new structure did not match their previous placement. Review them and use Edit SOP to select an appropriate destination.
What success looks like
A useful starter organization with existing procedures intentionally refiled where necessary.
